It’s sad but true. Why do parents continue to lie to their children about such nonsense anyway?

I have no clue! It’s not like they are helping there children, teeth will fall out when they fall out!

I am a firm believer in keeping a child’s innocence in tact for as long as you can; that is before to world rips out their unknowing little hands and sharts all over it.

These white lies (let’s call a spade a spade) about Santa and the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy exist to remind some of us, if not all, that at one point in time, we didn’t have all the answers to worlds mysteries. All of the things we didn’t know, we were allowed to imagine answers to; unlock a safe alternate universe in which every little thing was linked to something good, something magical.

There is nothing wrong with that, right?

Estoy de acuerdo. I’m glad that the worlds mysteries are explained, in part, by mythology and “white lies” because the truth is so much less exciting. And, on top of that, I don’t exactly trust science or “truth” at all because in a world where Pluto can be a planet one day and a “dwarf planet” the next mythology, and the Tooth Fairy seem to be much more enduring and permanent.

That’s one of first things I told my little sister not to believe in.

I guess the sooner you know the truth the sooner you can start haggling with your parents to get the price you deserve on that shiny tooth of yours.
